HN Consultants was founded by Ole Frank Nielsen MD and Finn Hansen, political scientist.
Ole Frank Nielsen has a basic medical degree supplemented with two MSc degrees in public health. He has gained experience and has acquired a solid professional profile through employment in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an internal consultant and through many years of work as an international public health consultant.
Finn Hansen has a degree in public administration and planning and MSc in international development studies. Working experience has been acquired through employment with UNDP Costa Rica, employment with a Danish NGO in Nicaragua and through short-term consultancies with the Danish International Development Agency, Danida, principally in Latin American countries.
Caroline van der Sluys has extensive international experience in natural resources planning and environmental management. She is skilled in the development and application of tools such as environmental planning, environmental impact assessment, environmental management plans, and geographical information systems (GIS). She has worked on the development of EIA systems, procedures, and sectoral guidelines (for the industrial and transport sectors, as well as general guidelines) in many countries. She has a broad international experience in institutional development and capacity building within the environment sector, and has conducted training needs assessments and developed and implemented training programmes and workshops within a number of areas (EIA; watershed planning, GIS, industrial zoning, institutional structures for EA).
The carrying philosophy of the company is to operate through networking with individuals, groups and institutions. The company is a strong believer in the need for development of public sector and government institutions with good governance. Public administration is important no matter which public-private mix is practiced.
It has working experience in a number of African, Asian and Latin American countries. HN Consultants was registered as a limited liability company according to Danish law in January 2001.
